How do I purchase hair extensions?
Book a free consultation with us! Hair is custom ordered for each individual client. Your stylist will help find the color, length, and amount of hair that is best for you.
What do they feel like?
Slight scalp discomfort following installation is normal, as each extension weft has been tightly tied into your hair - this won't last long! After a few washes the extension hair itself will take on a nice, natural texture and possibly a very slight wave. (If you have naturally curly hair, they generally will not match without the use of heat tools.)
How often can I wash my hair with extensions in?
As a general hair-care routine, we advise against washing daily - but take into account your specific hair type, activity level, and oil production rate. Washing your hair every 3 days or less is best for the longevity of your extension hair. We recommend using dry shampoo in between washes!
How much do they cost?
The price of the extension hair itself will vary widely based on the factors mentioned above (past orders have been anywhere from $200-$800+). Once these details are discussed with your stylist, we will be able to give you an accurate total cost. This total will include taxes, shipping + handling, and the price for supplies needed for installation.
Installation of extension hair is $125/row.
Can I sleep with extensions in?
Of course! Put your hair in a loose, low ponytail or braid to keep them from tangling during the night. Sleeping on a silk pillowcase will also support the health of your hair. Make sure all of your hair is completely dry before you go to bed.
How long will they stay on my head?
With the right aftercare, your extensions will remain properly tied in your own hair for at least 6-8 weeks. When they start feeling too loose or grown out, it's time to have them moved up!
Keep in mind - hair extensions are very sensitive and different from intact human hair. Your stylist will inform you of the daily maintenance procedure to keep your extensions in the best condition possible.
Can I bring in my own extensions to be installed?
Sorry, no - our stylists are most comfortable working with the hair extensions they are trained in. Purchasing your hair through Willow Salon will ensure your stylist can achieve the best visual result and longevity.
Will they damage my natural hair?
Hair extensions should not cause permanent or major damage to your natural hair if installed by a licensed stylist with the ability to educate you on the proper aftercare and maintenance.
Can my extensions be lightened or colored?
We strongly suggest that you do not perform any chemical treatments on your extensions, as they have already been processed and will highly likely be ruined with further color.
How often do I need to purchase new hair?
This depends on how you care for the extensions and your personal lifestyle! If you consistently style your hair or use low-grade products, you may notice the quality diminishing in 3-4 months. If you take gentle care of your extension hair, limit your use of hot tools, and always use professional grade products, they can last up to 12 months.
